Old USSR Hockey Training Ideas

The enclosed video was featured recently in a Russian hockey group I check on frequently. As soon as I started watching that video, I knew I had to share it with my CoachChic.com members. It's loaded with old USSR hockey training ideas, although you'll have to wade through a lot of hockey and non-hockey clips to see them all.

Old USSR Hockey Training Ideas

Just so members know, I don't really speak or understand much Russian, and I have a friend in that hockey group who helps me a lot with the language (interpreting some of the posts for me, and sometimes translating my comments for other group members). There isn't an awful lot I can say here -- except that this video is filled with tons of USSR hockey training ideas. They're mostly from the era when Anatoli Tarasov oversaw things, and from the days when the best scientific minds in the hockey world were developing drills most others of that time just couldn't imagine. So, with those last few comments in mind -- about Tarasov and about the scientists, take your time and use the Stop button plenty, to note as many old USSR hockey training ideas as you can find...
Like a lot of other entries lately, I'm posting this one with an eye towards off-season planning. So, I'll suggest that member coaches, parents and older players go through that video deliberately -- and definitely more than once. Truly, any old USSR hockey training ideas are worth the extra effort.
